
Working Against Cancers Survival Scholarship
Program assists young adult cancer survivors (ages 30 yrs and under) by providing awards
toward academic and vocational education. These scholarships will encourage
each recipient to engage in a trade, an art, or some other form of higher
education relieving some of the additional burden in obtaining the necessary
finances to reach these goals. Candidates must be a cancer survivor or
recently diagnosed with cancer, but do not need to be currently receiving
treatment to qualify.
Three awards of will be granted for the 2007-2008 academic year. The $500 Jackie Maas Memorial Scholarship and the $1000 EJE Memorial Scholarship will
be awarded to exceptional young cancer survivors who are California residents. The third WAC scholarship in the amount of
$500 will be awarded to an exceptional national cancer survivor.

The 2007-2008 scholarship funding is restricted to undergraduate educational
purposes only (i.e. books, tuition, fees, or educational material). Because of limited resources WAC cannot award funding for graduate education at this time.
