The WAC Youth Mentoring Program matches young oncology survivors with properly screened, trained and supervised mentors who recognize the unique psychosocial concerns of these children, adolescent, and young adult survivors. These mentors are cancer survivors themselves. Our novel program matches a “veteran” so to speak, with a suitable patient. This veteran symbolizes survival. The myriad of questions and emotions our targeted population have are seldom addressed. Who better to empathize and address these issues than a mentor who has been in their shoes and is now an active member of society? WAC does not give monies to these families affected by cancer, but instead, through our innovative mentor program, we can provide the affected youth with life skills that can be used during and after cancer treatment.

For more information about our WAC Youth Mentoring Program please contact our Mentor Program Coordinator at: contactus@workingagainstcancer.org.

(All mentors must be 18-45 years old and a cancer survivor at least one year post treatment.)
